A sunny engagement session in downtown and West Seattle with Seattleites, Marlyce and Seth.

We couldn’t have asked for a better, warmer day in February to celebrate the engagement of Marlyce and Seth. We squeezed through the crowds at Pike’s Place, warmly greeted by throwing fish. We tucked into their apartment just after that to rest our smiling faces and get ready for a run – them, not me, of course, that would’ve looked funny with my big camera in my face trying to run! They are so cute and it was so fun to talk about Seattle living and their running life. He proposed to her on a run, so you could say it’s a big part of who they are and will even be included in their wedding – so exciting!

Thanks Marlyce and Seth for having me document this time for you. You’re both quite an inspiration in your active life and as a couple. I am very much looking forward to your wedding in just a few short weeks! I’m going to go run now.

Planning a wedding can prove to be quite challenging. Planning a wedding across the country even more so. Then, letting your sister plan all the things proves to unnerve you. Haha. There has never been a time where I was more involved in a wedding than this one. Of course, my brother got married and this is what I do, so naturally… After months of trying to talk him into getting married in Washington, it finally worked, and my new sister-in-law put all her faith in me, but she had her doubts! Thankfully, despite all the traveling and holiday business, the wedding came together so beautifully and I’m telling you, I would do this day over and over and over again if I could. Part 1 today features the sweetest intimate wedding ceremony, my first and only time officiating a wedding. Stay tuned tomorrow for the adventures we went on to take beautiful photos of the bride and groom.

Kicking off little Benny’s birthday celebration with a cake smash, sharing with big brother, and having all the balloons to play with was just about the funnest way to spend my morning! With his first birthday being his Golden one, his mama pulled out all the stops and let the boys go to town with cake, balloons, and one heck of a party coming up! Johnny stepped in as my assistant, and isn’t he darling with his little camera?! I just adore the influence he’s gained from having me around. I just know these boys will have so many adventures together, I can’t wait to see what else life has in store for them. Happiest first birthday Benjamin David. I adore you + your incredible family.
